My Hobby Lobby Adventure in Spokane

Exploring the Arts & Crafts Wonderland

As an avid crafter and hobbyist, I was thrilled to learn that a Hobby Lobby store finally opened up in my hometown of Spokane! I’ve shopped at Hobby Lobby before in other cities, but having one right here is so exciting and convenient. The moment I heard they were opening, I cleared my schedule because I knew I’d want to spend a good chunk of time wandering the aisles and discovering all the goodies inside.

I arrived right when the store opened at 9AM on a Monday morning to avoid the crowds. Stepping through the automatic doors felt like entering an arts & crafts wonderland! I was immediately greeted by the warm, rustic decor and sprawling 60,000 square feet space filled to the brim with every craft supply and tool imaginable. My inner artist, sewist, paper crafter, knitter, jewelry maker, painter, Party DIYer – basically all my creative sides – were geeking out. I knew I’d found a new happy place in Spokane.

Since it was my first time exploring this particular Hobby Lobby location, I decided to methodically walk each aisle to get the full scope of their inventory. The store felt really open and well organized, making it easy to find my way around. I was thrilled to discover they carried all my favorite brands of fabric, yarn, beads, floral supplies, framing, seasonal d├ęcor, and so much more. As a devoted Hobby Lobby fan, it was nice to see they had all the classic products I’ve come to know and love over the years.

But what were the hours, location and key info for this specific Spokane Hobby Lobby? Here’s what I found out during my reconnaissance shopping adventure:

  • Store Hours: The Spokane Hobby Lobby is open 9AM to 8PM Monday through Saturday, and 10AM to 6PM on Sundays. Good to know as I tend to shop later in the evenings once my kids are in bed!
  • Store Location: This Hobby Lobby is conveniently located at 13520 E Indiana Ave right off I-90 in the Spokane Valley. It’s in the same shopping center as Ross and PetSmart. There is ample parking which is always a plus!
  • Fabric Selection: I was thrilled to see their large bolts of fashion and quilting fabrics in cotton blends, knits, fleece and more. Tons of patterns and sewing notions too of course! This will be my new go-to spot for fabrics in Spokane.
  • Job Openings: The store appeared fully staffed during my visit, but advised checking their website for job openings in case they need seasonal help or to fill future full-time and part-time positions. Couldn’t hurt to get my name in for consideration!
  • Custom Framing: An entire section is dedicated to custom framing services for diplomas, posters, artwork, needleart, shadowboxes, jerseys and more. I will definitely keep this in mind the next time I need a specialty framing job done.
  • COVID Safety: All employees were wearing masks and plexiglass shields were up at the registers. Social distancing floor markers were in place and sanitizer stations were readily available too. Felt like a safe shopping environment.

After getting my initial lay of the land, it was time to dive into my favorite aisles like beads, jewelry making, floral, fabric, and Christmas d├ęcor. Here are some of the highlights and special discoveries from my first Hobby Lobby Spokane shopping adventure:

Job Application & Best Sellers

While chatting with an employee in the bead aisle, I asked if they had any job openings I could apply for. While nothing was posted yet, she recommended I keep checking their website and apply online as soon as I see an opening I’m interested in. In the meantime, she shared that some of their current best-selling products included Cricut machines, Opalhouse home decor, flower arranging supplies, and mini trees & DIY Christmas villages. Good to know for future shopping trips and gift ideas!

Weekly Ad & Discounts

At the front of the store there was a clearly marked area showcasing their latest weekly ad and specials. This week’s ad included 40% off spring floral, 30% off kids Easter crafts, and buy one get one 50% off on Cricut materials. I also learned by signing up for their email newsletter and rewards program that they send members special discount codes and coupons. Definitely worth doing to save money!

Online Order Pickup & Returns

Near the registers I noticed signs for in-store pickup of online orders, which is really convenient. I can browse and purchase items online anytime, then swing by during store hours to quickly grab my order. The return policy allows full refunds within 90 days on most non-perishable items with the original receipt, even for online purchases returned in-store. Good to know in case anything doesn’t work out for my projects.

Classes & Workshops

Towards the back of the store they had an area designated for classes and workshops. The schedule featured crafting classes for adults and kids on topics like jewelry making, floral arranging, painting techniques, clay sculpting, and more! This would be such a fun way to spend an afternoon and learn new hobbies. I’ll have to keep an eye out for classes that align with my interests.

Loyalty Program

At checkout I was sure to sign up for the Hobby Lobby loyalty program called Creative Rewards. It’s free to join! Members earn 10% back in rewards on every purchase, plus get access to exclusive coupon offers. Rewards can be applied to future purchases which is an awesome perk as a frequent shopper. Certainly a no-brainer program to take advantage of.

Holiday Decor

No trip to Hobby Lobby is complete without browsing the holiday decor aisles, even if it’s not the season. Their Christmas trees, ornaments, garlands, figurines, and village setups were absolutely magical. They also had a surprisingly large selection of Easter, Halloween, and Fall d├ęcor out already too. I’m really looking forward to checking out their holiday inventory again as each season draws closer. Especially with 40% off coupons!

Contact Info

If I ever have an item specific inquiry or special order request, the store’s direct phone number and email are conveniently listed on their website’s location page. This will make it easy to contact them with any product questions. There is also a live online chat feature which I imagine would be helpful too.

As I mentioned earlier, the parking situation is great at this Hobby Lobby location. The shopping center has a huge lot so finding a spot close to the entrance was no problem. There is also clearly marked handicap parking right up front for accessibility. The wide driving aisles in the lot also make maneuvering a breeze.

Seasonal Products

Based on their expansive holiday section, it’s clear Hobby Lobby carries robust seasonal inventories. An employee explained that they continually refresh their stock of seasonal products year-round. As soon as one holiday ends, they transition the seasonal areas and aisles to the next big event. No danger of them running out of Easter bunnies in April!

Exclusive Products

In addition to all the familiar brands and supplies I rely on, Hobby Lobby also offers their own exclusive lines of home decor, furniture, art, floral, fabrics, and more. Their Opalhouse and Parker House collections offer trendy styles you can only find at Hobby Lobby. It’s worth perusing these eye-catching products for unique DIY project inspiration you won’t see elsewhere.

Payment Methods

Hobby Lobby accepts all major credit cards, Apple Pay/Google Pay, checks, and of course cash. I personally like to use my Hobby Lobby credit card on big purchases because you get 10% off your first purchase, then 5% back on future purchases. They make it really convenient to shop however you prefer.

Restocking Schedule

An helpful employee in the paint aisle explained that their stock is replenished every morning before opening. Their warehouse team works hard to make sure all shelves, bins and displays are fully stocked by the time doors open each day. That made me feel confident I could find what I need as long as I don’t shop too late in the day. Now I know when to shop if I really need something!

Clearance Section

On each aisle I noticed they have red and yellow clearance tags for discounted items. But for the best selection of clearance crafty goods marked down 50-90% off, there is a dedicated clearance section near the front of the store. They rotation clearance merchandise frequently, so it’s worth popping into that section no matter when you visit to find crazy good deals!

As you can see, my inaugural Hobby Lobby Spokane shopping trip was a huge success! I uncovered so many helpful details that will be useful for future visits. The most important takeaway for me is that they legitimately have every supply for every hobby imaginable at amazing prices. No more running all over town to hunt down basics like plain t-shirts and art brushes – it is all right there in one spot! Any creative project I dream up can become reality thanks to Hobby Lobby’s incredible selection. I’m so glad I took time to explore because this will definitely become my go-to hobby headquarters. The arts & crafts force is strong with Hobby Lobby Spokane!
