Finding Crafting Bliss at Hobby Lobby in Fabulous Las Vegas

Satisfying Your Creative Passions in Sin City

As an avid crafter and longtime Las Vegas resident, I’m always on the hunt for new and exciting arts and crafts supplies in my hometown. So when I heard that Hobby Lobby was opening not one but two locations right here, I was over the moon with excitement!

Hobby Lobby is one of the nation’s largest arts and crafts retailers, but until recently they didn’t have any stores in Nevada. As someone who loves embellishing everything from scrapbooks to home decor, having a huge craft store like Hobby Lobby right in my backyard is a total game-changer. No more scouring the strip for random craft stores or ordering supplies online and waiting for them to ship. Now I can browse endless aisles of fabric, ribbon, floral arrangements, craft paints, puzzles, and everything else I need for my latest project.

If you’re looking to get your DIY on in Las Vegas, read on for the inside scoop on our brand new Hobby Lobby locations. Consider this your crafty guide to satisfying all your creative passions in Sin City!

Finding the Stores

Hobby Lobby opened its first two Las Vegas area stores in the summer of 2022. One location is in the northwest region of the valley at 9575 West Flamingo Road. This store is conveniently situated right off the 215 beltway, making it easy for crafters across Summerlin, Spring Valley, Centennial Hills and other northwest neighborhoods to access.

The other store is located way out southeast in Henderson at 1085 East Lake Mead Parkway. This provides a great option for Henderson, Green Valley, Whitney, and other southeast valley residents.

No matter what part of Las Vegas you’re coming from, both stores offer ample parking which is always a bonus! Nothing worse than finding a great craft store but struggling to find a spot to leave your car.

If you’ll be visiting without a vehicle, several bus routes stop near both locations. The SDX Boulder Highway route drops off right at the Henderson store’s entrance. And multiple RTC routes along Flamingo provide public transportation access to the Summerlin location.

Of course, ride shares like Uber and Lyft can whisk you to the door of either shop in minutes. No matter how you plan to get there, Google Maps or your preferred navigation app will guide you right to the front doors of your nearest Hobby Lobby in Las Vegas.

Catering to Crafters

Stepping inside these well-lit stores feels like entering a creative paradise. From the high ceilings to the polished concrete floors, Hobby Lobby’s signature industrial modern decor provides a sleek backdrop. The ambiance feels artistic yet approachable.

While each store has its own unique footprint, they both offer around 55,000 square feet of fully-stocked shopping space. That’s bigger than many home improvement stores! You’ll never feel cramped browsing the spacious aisles.

As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by seasonal arrangements and home accents that pull you into the worlds of make believe and nostalgia. Delicate Christmas villages, cheerful Easter decor, and cozy fall vignettes are creatively displayed according to the calendar. It sparks inspiration for your next holiday project.

The rest of the store carries every supply or tool an arts and crafts enthusiast could ever want. There are endless options for:

  • Fabric: Prints, solids, licensed cottons, fleeces, satins, knits and more! From apparel fabrics to quilt cottons, if you can dream it, you can find fabric to sew it at Hobby Lobby.
  • Floral: Fresh flowers, wreaths, garlands, bushes, stems, picks, and arrangements galore. Build stunning centerpieces or eye-catching home decor. The options are endless with their incredible floral selection.
  • Ribbons & Trims: Thousands of ribbons in every width, texture, print and color imaginable. Metallic trim, lace, ruffles, tassels, cords, and more to embellish all your projects.
  • Scrapbooking: Papers, stickers, die cuts, albums, and everything you need to preserve memories in scrapbook form. Brands like Paper Studio and We R Memory Makers are well represented.
  • Fine Art Supplies: Quality paints, brushes, canvases, drawing materials, easels, and more for fine artists. Big names like Winsor & Newton.
  • Kids Crafts: Build your child’s creativity with craft kits, DIY projects, science experiments, washable paints and more. STEAM activities galore.
  • ** framing:** Frames, matboards, glass, hangers, and everything for professional custom framing. Get your artwork gallery ready.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Let’s just say that between the two stores, crafters in Las Vegas now have access to over 100,000 products across any crafting category imaginable. It’s an embarrassment of creative riches!

Helpful Shopping Services

Beyond the extensive product selection, Hobby Lobby also provides services to make planning and shopping for your next big project as seamless as possible.

For starters, you can order any in-stock product online and pick it up in-store for free. Just shop on their website and select the Pickup In Store option during checkout. There’s no need to comb the aisles if you know exactly what you need – have it ready for pickup within a few hours!

Speaking of the website, Hobby Lobby also lets you check real-time product availability right from their site. Just type in your zip code to see if the item you want is in stock at either local store. No more making the trip only to come home empty handed.

For big shopping trips, you can reserve a Smart Cart through the Hobby Lobby app up to seven days in advance. These carts are oversized to fit larger project purchases. Plus, they have a built-in scanner to scan and bag items as you go, streamlining the checkout process.

If you need help transporting your haul, both locations offer truck rental. For a small fee, you can borrow one of their pickup trucks to load your supplies and bring them home. No need to arrange your own vehicle if you took the bus or an Uber.

Hobby Lobby also has weekly, monthly and even same-day custom framing services available. Their on-site framers can professionally frame, mount and finish your artwork. Just drop it off and pick it up looking gallery ready.

Money Saving Opportunities

Even with the convenience of two local stores, I’m still a bargain hunter at heart. I love that Hobby Lobby offers plenty of ways to save money on your craft supply hauls.

First, download the Hobby Lobby app and sign up for the rewards program. You’ll earn a $5 reward for every $100 spent. These rewards can be redeemed on future purchases for even more savings.

Next, definitely sign up to receive the weekly circular by email. It contains coupons and sale notifications to help you save big. Sale prices are discounted by up to 50% on different categories each week. With the coupon codes, you can get deep discounts on top brands.

If there’s not a current coupon for what you need, the keyword to ask for at the register is “Competitor Coupon.” The cashier can substitute a 40% off coupon if you show them any current competitor’s coupon. Every dollar counts with craft supplies!

Beyond coupons, all students get a 10% discount every day with a valid school ID. Teachers get a 15% discount on regular price purchases too. Just sign up for the Teacher Rewards program. And active duty military, veterans, and first responders receive 10% off as well.

During the holidays, there are also special customer appreciation sales. For instance, this past November and December, Hobby Lobby ran their “Let’s Make Merry” sale. All customers could take advantage of huge sitewide discounts like 40% off Christmas trees, 50% of holiday fabrics, etc.

Hobby Lobby is certainly making it easy on our budgets to stock up on craft supplies in Las Vegas!

Unique Local Offerings

While Hobby Lobby may be a national chain, the two Las Vegas locations do cater to local interests that you won’t necessarily find in all stores.

For example, the Henderson store carries licensed fabrics and other craft materials featuring beloved Las Vegas sports teams like the Raiders, Golden Knights, and Aces. You can only find this merchandise at the southern Nevada locations.

The Summerlin store also offers craft classes and event space for local community groups. I recently took a hand lettering class in their Party Room that was fantastic. Local paint and sip studios even host events in the classroom space after hours.

Speaking of classes, both stores should be launching kids crafting classes and summer camps soon. I can’t wait to enroll my niece! We’re also expecting specialty classes for adults like wreath making, card making, jewelry making, and more.

Beyond the classes, both stores support local charities and nonprofit groups. Recently the Henderson location donated 400 jingle bells to a homeless youth shelter for their holiday gift bags. And the Summerlin store is hosting a Valentine’s Day card making event to send love to seniors in nursing homes.

Hobby Lobby corporate may make the merchandising and staffing decisions, but the local managers really tailor their community outreach to be Vegas-specific. As a longtime local myself, I appreciate that they are already giving back!

Satisfying All Your Creative Needs

As a crafter and Las Vegas resident, I couldn’t be more thrilled that Hobby Lobby is finally here to satisfy all our arts and crafts needs and passions. Their incredible selection, helpful services, enticing deals and community connections are already enhancing Sin City’s creative landscape.

So next time inspiration for a new DIY project strikes, remember that you no longer need to venture far to find supplies. With two spacious locations across the valley and savings opportunities galore, your crafting paradise is waiting at Hobby Lobby right here in Las Vegas!
